On behalf of the Fiji Mountaineering and Climbing Association, I am delighted to share this message with all of you on the occasion of the Foundation Day of the Fiji Mountaineering and Climbing Association.

The Fiji Mountaineering and Climbing Association was founded on Saturday, the 17th of February, 2018, at Sigatoka, Fiji.

Today, we stand here due to the unwavering dedication of our Foundation Members, whose efforts have shaped this remarkable organization.

While our initial goal was to organize a Mount Everest Expedition, our aspirations have expanded with the growth of our Association.

We are excited to unveil our 20-year strategic framework, designed to nurture a flourishing mountaineering and climbing industry in Fiji. Over the next two decades, we aim to:

-Maintain an efficient and well-structured organization
-Diversify our revenue sources
-Execute capital projects that enhance mountaineering and climbing in Fiji, including the Fiji Mountaineering and Climbing Academy project, the High-Performance Centre (HPC) for Mountaineering project, Divisional Sport Climbing Centers’ projects, and the HPC for Sport Climbing project
-Establish a comprehensive education and training model
-Organize and participate in domestic and international mountaineering expeditions and sport climbing competitions
-Achieve our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals, including the Young Mountaineers’ Home project, recognition of relevant national and international days, and a reinforced commitment to combating Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in Fiji
-Partner with local communities to discover new opportunities, promote local mountaineering and climbing sites in Fiji, advocate for mountain tourism, amplify the voices of mountain communities, and protect the mountain environment

I extend my deepest gratitude to all trustees, officers, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone associated with the Association. Your invaluable support makes our work possible and our journey smoother.

As we continue to scale new heights, I wish you all the very best in your future mountaineering and climbing endeavors. May your journeys lead you from one peak to another.
